Saints in Our Lives

Ephesians 1:11-23
We need the Saints in our lives – the Peters, the Marthas, the Phoebes and the Timothys. We need the Luthers and the Calvins and the Mother Theresas. We need to link to what has gone before. We need to have the cloud of witnesses present in our daily lives so that we can see how the Christian life is lived by ordinary persons – people like you and me. Their witness reminds us of the blessedness of the life that Christ invites us to live … “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven … blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted … blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Their witness encourages us to carry on when part of us would rather choose the easy path. Today, we remember those saints who have gone before us – because in remembering them, we find a source of strength to live the life that Jesus Christ calls us to live.
